How it works

Ordering is a conversation

Until the shop opens, every order starts with a message or a phone call. It is slower than a shopping cart, and the results are better.

  1. Tell me the idea

    Who it is for, what the occasion is, and any colors, names or dates you want on it. Photos help.

  2. We settle the details

    I will come back with fabric and thread options, a price, and how long it will take. Nothing starts until you are happy.

  3. I make it and send it

    Sewn start to finish by me, checked over, wrapped, and shipped or handed to you in person.

Hello — I’m the one at the sewing machine

Left of the Brain Designs is one person, one machine, and a lot of thread. I have been sewing for most of my life, mostly for the people I love, and enough of them told me to start selling that I finally listened.

I like the orders that make me stop and think — the odd size, the fabric you found in your grandmother’s closet, the joke only your family will get. Nothing here is stamped out by the hundred. That is the whole idea.
